Apax Digital leads US$43M round for Wizeline

Wizeline is a Silicon Valley software development company that is famous for its Mexican back-office in Guadalajara, which hires over 300 developers. Wizeline’s founder, Bismarck Lepe, is the child of Mexican parents, and started looking at opportunities in Mexico when he started his first company, Ooyala (acquired in 2014).

In a story reported by PulsoSocial, Wizeline, which now hires 500 people around the world and reports 200% yearly growth, has closed a US$43M Series B round led by Apax Digital. The fund will be used to accelerate Wizeline’s growth and to improve sales and marketing efforts worldwide, across its offices in Silicon Valley, Guadalajara, and Ho Chi Min City.

Said founder Bismarck Lepe in the original story for PulsoSocial:

“Wizeline has always focused on helping companies innovate and offer better products on the market at a faster speed. Software is the new frontier for all companies, and Wizeline’s focus on uniting global talent with technological platforms allows us to offer transformative solutions to the biggest companies in the world. Tens of millions of people use a product developed by Wizeline every day.”

This investment is Apax Digital’s ninth investment in the IT sector. They will be bringing years of experience in consulting and IT to help Wizeline quickly develop new technologies, using API/SDK and artificial intelligence, to speed up their development processes.
