Movile’s iFood Acquires Pedidos Ya’s Brazil Assets

On the heels of Movile’s $124M of fresh capital, Movile’s iFood has acquired Pedidos Ya’s Brazilian assets to continue to continue to consolidate the food delivery market in Brazil and making it one of the biggest food delivery platforms in the region, if not the world.

As reported by Veja, a Brazilian daily:

According to the iFood merger director, Alex Anton, Pedidos Ya pioneered in educating the Brazilian to order online and has a base of 15,000 restaurants in Brazil.

Movile continues to be Latin America’s most active acquirer, according to data from LAVCA:

Movile was the most active acquirer of startups in Brazil from 2010-2016, followed by Linx and B2W, according to LAVCA’s analysis of digital M&A transactions over that time frame.
