YC-alum, UBits, receives investment from Silicon Valley fund

LatAm List – UBits has come to be known as the Netflix for corporate training. With more than 1000 videos in 80 courses such as Sales, Customer Service, and Leadership, UBits has dominated the Colombian job training market and captured 70 corporate clients.

Earlier this year, UBits became one of six Latin American startups to present at Y Combinator Demo Day. They recently announced a US$2M round led by Silicon Valley investor Spectrum 28, which previously invested in other Latin American edtech businesses.

UBits will reportedly use the round to accelerate their expansion into Mexico and to add hundreds of new courses to their platform.

“This round will allow us to scale our product and bring it to new markets such as Mexico and Peru. Still, the most important thing about this round are the people who back these funds and the angels that have extensive global experience with edtech companies and the Latin American market,” said cofounder and CEO Julián Melo.

UBits currently has over 50,000 users and its top clients include Natura, Terpel, and BNP Paribas.
