U-Planner raises largest round by a Chilean tech company in 2018

LatAm ListU-Planner is a Chilean software that helps universities optimize their resources and develop predictive models that improve outcomes for their students. The company already operates in top universities in 12 countries around the world, including the University of Washington, Chile’s Universidad Católica, and Mexico’s Autónoma Nacional.

U-Planner recently raised a US$5M round led by Scale Capital, through their Amérigo fund. This round was the biggest to be raised by a Chilean startup this year.

“Education has transformed the lives of everyone on our team, so we believe that higher education is a tremendous part of supporting the development of a country. With this investment, we will push even harder to reach our goals and create a scalable and sustainable social impact,” said CEO Juan Pablo Mena.

The international education summit, enlightED, also recently recognized U-Planner as the best company developing tech solutions for higher education. Founded six years ago, U-Planner has received recognition from several organizations, including Microsoft and CORFO.

They have offices in Chile, Colombia, and Mexico, each led by one of U-Planner’s cofounders.
