Spanish laundry startup Mr Jeff acquires Brazil’s Lava e Leva

LatAm List – After receiving a US$12M Series A from the All Iron Ventures Fund, Spanish laundry startup Mr Jeff acquired Brazil’s largest laundry provider, Lava e Leva. The Brazilian service has more than 350 points of sale across the country and will create a soft landing for the Spanish platform into Latin America’s largest economy.

Mr Jeff already runs operations in Spain, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru, and now has over 1000 franchises. The startup allows customers to book laundry services online and have their clothes returned, cleaned and pressed, within 48 hours.

Despite the acquisition, Lava e Leva will maintain its name, as the brand already resonates well with the Brazilian public.

“We have studied the Lava e Leva acquisition for the past year. Mr Jeff was born with the proposal of offering convenience in the laundry service through technology and we consider that Lava and Leva was totally in line with our proposal and could be an important facilitator for the understanding of the country and the Brazilian consumer, besides entry into one of our major markets in the world, “said Eloi Gomez, CEO and one of Mr Jeff’s founders.

The investment will also be used to consolidate Mr Jeff’s operations across Latin America and expand into Costa Rica, Panama, and Uruguay.
