SoftBank evaluates investment in C6; Fonseca leaves his executive role

LatAm ListSoftBank, a Japanese multinational telecommunications corporation, may be looking to make a third investment in C6, a Brazilian neobank. SoftBank has already led other investments with Brazilian companies, such as Loggi and 99 Taxis, but discussions  about this new investment are still incipient.

In other news, one of C6’s founders, Carlos Fonseca, has resigned his executive role in the startup. C6 confirmed that the executive left in a “joint decision between the partners”. His motives have not been made clear, but according to sources, he will keep his shares in the firm.

C6 currently has 20 team members, including many former BTG Pactual employees. However, the goal for 2019 is to expand its team and reach 400 employees by the end of the year.
