LatAm ListBancolombia recently announced a partnership with Vlipco at the General Shareholders Assembly in Medellín, Colombia. The commercial alliance with the Colombian fintech startup will strengthen e-Commerce transactions and digital payments made through Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram.

In the next few months, Vlipco will provide its services and support to launch Bancolombia’s new digital payment platform. Customers can use a Bancolombia savings or checking account, or a Nequi account, to use their platform, which can be activated in as little as ten minutes,

David Peláez, Vlipco’s CEO, says that the alliance will help provide better services to SMEs and users that seek to buy products and services in a faster and more efficient way.

“It’s an undertaking that will change the relationship between banks and fintechs, and will contribute significantly to the country’s development, since it not only responds to the needs of new businesses and users, but also to the challenges faced by these companies that need institutions like Bancolombia to believe in their potential for growth,” said Juan Carlos Mora, Grupo Bancolombia’s President.
