Uber returns to Cancun

LatAm List – In December of 2017, Uber suspended its activity in Cancun after being there for 15 months. Now, Uber is returning with improvements:

“All trips made using the application, will have insurance coverage in case of property damage, total theft, personal accidents, and civil liability for damages to third parties,” commented Saúl Crespo, Uber México’s Communication Manager, to El Financiero.

Uber has over 500K users in Cancun, and it is estimated that the return of the ridesharing platform will offer more than 5000 self-employment options for the region, according to an Uber representative.

Riders will also be able to create a list of trusted contacts and have access to a 911 button within the Uber app.
