Amazon launches Alexa in Brazil

LatAm List – Alexa, the voice of Amazon Echo, has launched in Brazil as part of Amazon’s expansion into the Brazilian market. Native Brazilians helped to create a new voice for Alexa, ensuring not only fluency in the right Portuguese dialect but also expertise on regional and local information.

Toni Reid, vice-president of Amazon Alexa comments, “In Brazil, Alexa is Brazilian. We have built a completely new experience in honor of the unique language and culture of Brazil.”

The launch is part of Amazon’s expansion into the Brazilian market following the release of Amazon Prime and Amazon Music to the country in September.
