Argentinian agtech Calice raised a $2.5M seed round from Astanor, Draper Cygnus, Xperiment Ventures, AIR Capital, Innventure, and GrainCorp Ventures.

Calice uses an AI-powered virtual field trials platform, NODES, to predict crop performance and quality, accelerate crop development, and reduce the need for physical testing by up to 80%.

Calice will use the funds to expand in Brazil and the US and to launch new products.

“Initially in Brazil with the B2B business model, the focus is on seed companies and in the agro-food and bio sector. After, we may expand to other sectors,” said Calice’s co-founder, CFO and COO Pablo Romero.
