Chilean paytech Tenpo launches credit card

Tenpo launched a new credit card. This milestone comes after receiving authorization as a non-bank credit card issuer from the Comisión para el Mercado Financiero (CMF) on July 10.

The credit card offers a 100% online and paperless application process. Through the app, customers can manage security settings, and set up automatic payments, among additional features.

“With the new credit card, we seek to compete with traditional institutions. Tenpo stands as the only digital account in Chile providing personalized, secure, and entirely digital financial products and services,” said Fernando Araya, Tenpo’s Co-Founder and CEO.

According to data from the CMF, Tenpo has the highest number of active clients per month, exceeding 453k in the latest review published by the regulatory entity in May 2023.
