The construction marketplace Sooper raised a $5.7M seed funding round from Canary VC and Kaszek Ventures.

Sooper is a B2B marketplace for the construction market. The platform connects small and medium retailers to suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors for more efficient sales and delivery.

The building materials market is one of the largest industries in Brazil, yet it remains un-digitalized and largely inefficient. Sooper is working to change this system.

As a construction marketplace, Sooper is digitalizing the logistics chain of sourcing construction materials.

“Small and medium retailers have a hard job of managing multiple relationships with suppliers manually. They spend a lot of time on calls, visits, and with physical catalogs, in addition to getting little or no credit from suppliers and experience logistics problems,” explained Rafaela Khouri, co-founder and CEO of Sooper.

Sooper’s marketplace offers over 15,000 products which customers can order and receive the next day. The platform also offers a 90-day credit plan to assist shop owner’s in their purchases.

“Our mission is to be the platform that connects these different aspects in a digital ecosystem, bringing speed and transparency to inventory purchasing, delivery, and payment,” Khouri continued.

With the new capital, Sooper aims to increase growth 3x by the end of Q1 this year. The construction marketplace is also looking at next steps for regional expansion.
