Creze, a fintech specializing in loans for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), obtained a credit facility of up to $5.7 million from BBVA Spark, the investment arm of BBVA focused on high-impact businesses. This line of credit will allow Creze to serve more SMEs in Mexico, a sector in which 90% of businesses reportedly lack access to formal financial services.
Creze, co-founded by Juan Ahedo and Bernardo Prum, has leveraged its AI-driven digital platform to provide over $114 million in tailored loans, significantly bolstering a sector vital to Mexico’s employment and GDP.
“We are thrilled to partner with one of the most innovative banks in Mexico. This collaboration with BBVA Spark unlocks tremendous potential to foster a more robust entrepreneurial ecosystem,” expressed Juan Ahedo.
BBVA Spark, with its focus on technology-based business models, has established a presence in Spain, Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina, supporting over 800 clients and disbursing nearly $200 million in financing, evidencing its role in fostering business innovation.
