Ecoterra raises $1M from Capibara

Chilean Ecoterra raised a $1M investment from Capibara Impact Trust, valuing the company at $16M. The round consists of $500,000 in equity and $500,000 in redeemable equity, allowing the founders to reduce dilution by repurchasing part of the investment with future profits

Ecoterra develops a blockchain platform that verifies the traceability and certification of food products. The company announced the funding alongside the launch of Chile’s first organically produced milk, now available at Jumbo supermarkets.

With the funds, Ecoterra will strengthen its commercial presence in Bogotá and Medellín, add producers to its network, expand its egg, dairy, and coffee categories in Colombia, and prepare for expansion into Mexico.

Ecoterra has operated in Colombia for two years and is growing more than 100% annually. Ecoterra generates nearly $5M in annual revenue, maintains an EBITDA margin above 10%, and works with more than 250 producers across Chile and Colombia.
