Lemon, an Argentine fintech, announced the launch of its new credit card that allows cryptocurrency payments. The card is the first of its kind in the country.
The card is an extension of Lemon’s virtual wallet, Lemon Cash, which allows users to make purchases with different cryptocurrencies. With the card, customers will now be able to make a purchase with crypto in any shop that accepts a Visa card.
“This is a huge achievement for us,” said Marcelo Cavazzoli, CEO of Lemon. “We have been working to facilitate the use of cryptocurrency and give a real-world use for over a year.”
Customers can choose between paying in local tender or cryptocurrency at the point of purchase. The card can also be used for online payments.
