Logistics startup Pibox grows by 60% during the pandemic

LatamListPibox, a Colombian logistics startup, experienced a growth of 60% during the global COVID-19 pandemic. The startup now serves over 2,300 SMEs and 500 partner platforms, including MercadoLibre and Amazon.

Pibox is the postal service for Picap, a Colombian logistics and transport company operating in Mexico, Brazil, Peru, and Colombia. Pibox provides cost-effective last-mile delivery using smart technology to improve efficiency and reduce costs by up to 50% for customers.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused a surge in demand, with 80% of companies questioned by Picap recording an increase in sales. Many of these companies did not have the resources to manage the logistics of posting the goods.

“Logistics platforms such as Pibox can easily adapt to irregular situations that develop in the market. The current situation of rapidly increasing sales and a lack of resources to deal with them meant that, in a short space of time, many companies needed logistics support as a matter of urgency,” said Daniel Rodríguez Mendez, CEO of Picap.

In the past few months, Pibox recorded over 2 million parcel deliveries across its four countries of operation. The startup is rapidly becoming one of the fastest-growing logistics companies in Latin America and hopes to soon become the most important platform in the logistics sector in the region.
