LuzIA, an AI assistant for WhatsApp, raised $10M in a Series A round. The funds will be used to hire new talent, expand into new countries, and enhance the experience of its 16.1M global users.
“This investment marks a significant milestone in bridging the technological gap worldwide with AI. Our vision is to become the most user-friendly personal assistant, helping people with their tasks, boosting productivity, and improving their life’s quality,” said Álvaro Higes, LuzIA’s CEO.
LuzIA’s assistant offers responses on various topics, audio transcriptions, weather forecasts, translations, and AI-generated images through conversations on WhatsApp and Telegram.
Founded in March this year by Álvaro Higes, Carlos Pérez, and Javier Andrés, LuzIA has received a total of $12.9M in funding from investors like Pau Gasol, Globo Ventures, Khosla Ventures, A* Capital, Abstract Ventures, and FJ Labs. Since its launch in July, it has gained 6 million users in Brazil.
