Radix Florestal, a Brazilian climate-tech that tokenizes forest assets, secured $2M from Germany’s Ecosia, representing the search engine’s first direct investment in Brazil.

Founded in 2015 by Gilberto Derze, Radix combines biodiverse reforestation with agroforestry and silviculture, and channels 5% of the capital raised from investors into community programs. The company has raised more than R$10M from 1,084 individual investors through equity crowdfunding and tokenized forest credits.

Radix will use the new capital to expand its projects in the Amazon, where it has already restored 150 hectares with 100K trees from 12 native and exotic species. By 2030, the startup plans to recover 2,000 hectares and, by 2050, sequester 21M tons of CO₂ using drone and satellite monitoring for full traceability.

Radix also joined Nature Investment Lab, a public-private program that targets 126K hectares of restoration across Latin America.
