LatAm List – Turbi, a Brazilian car rental startup, announced an initiative to aid healthcare workers in Sao Paolo with their daily commute by offering free car rentals during April.
Doctors, nurses, and pharmacy staff can submit an email to contacto@turbi.com.br with their professional identification document (CRM, COREN, CRF) to apply for a coupon of 20 rentals up until April 30th.
“Healthcare professionals are working to save our parents, our loved ones, our friends. The least we could do was bring them a little comfort and ease as they work to save the population from the greatest health crisis in human history,” said Diego Lira, CEO and co-founder of Turbi.
The startup stopped charging healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 quarantine, as well as offering lowered costs on rental packages. Antibacterial hand gel is also now included in all rental cars.
Turbi has a fleet of 650 cars throughout Sao Paolo, with insurance and fuel already covered for. Clients simply use the Turbi app to access the vehicle and remove the key, without the need for human contact – another advantage in the current climate. The cars are rented hourly and must be returned to the same place they were found after the journey.
