Colombian clean energy startup Unergy raised $4M in a Pre-series A round and an additional $80M to finance “minigranjas,” a small-scale solar power plant.
Unergy develops a software platform that speeds up permitting, financing, and investor participation for “minigranjas,” and also acts as a project developer by structuring and deploying those small-scale solar farms.
Unergy will use the funds to deploy 80 new minigranjas and expand its capacity.
“This investment allows us to multiply the number of Minigranjas in the country and demonstrates confidence in a decentralized generation model Colombia needs. Together we built a pipeline of more than 100 MWp across 80 Minigranjas,” said Eduardo Ospina, Unergy’s co-founder and CEO.
