Tech skills are in high demand in Mexico. Tech services have grown by 15% this year, and job growth is strong at 8.6% per year. Mexico’s top technology university, Tecnológico de Monterrey, wants more people to gain the skills they need to take advantage of this work opportunity.
Tec de Monterrey recently partnered with Wizeline Academy, a free program to teach tech skills to local people in the cities where Wizeline works, to provide certificates to 10,000 people by the end of 2018.
The certificates include training in Engineering Leadership, Design Thinking, Product Management, and React.js. These courses, which follow a Silicon Valley methodology applied to a Mexican cultural context, will be the first of their kind in Mexico. The certificates combine academic lessons with practical learning alongside the leaders of Wizeline and other companies.
Wizeline offers these courses in order to give back to their local communities and to democratize technology and innovation to boost the tech ecosystem. This partnership will be a strong push for Mexico’s tech ecosystem, by continuing to grow access to the knowledge and skills necessary to innovate.
