Yana, a Mexican startup, announced the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its platform to combat the mental health crisis in Latin America.
The mental health startup has over 13M users across 35 different countries on its platform. To date, Yana has had over 2 billion conversations with its users, allowing their models to become smarter and safer.
Andrea Campos founded Yana in 2016, inspired by her struggle with depression and lack of access to emotional support. After implementing Yana AI, weekly downloads doubled, and users sent 1,900% more messages to Yana.
The company’s goal is to transform access to mental health tools through the power of Generative AI in their chatbot. According to the WHO, mental disorders affect about 20% of the population in Latin America.
