Uruguayan AI assistance startup Zapia raised $7M in a round led by Prosus Ventures.
Zapia provides an AI assistant that users access through WhatsApp or the company’s mobile app. The assistant helps automate everyday tasks such as scheduling messages, managing calendars and reminders, transcribing voice notes, searching for products or services, and making reservations.
Zapia will use the funds to launch Zapia Max, a new version of its assistant designed to execute tasks autonomously with user-defined permissions. The system is intended to perform actions such as navigating websites and apps, comparing prices, tracking subscriptions, editing documents, and completing bookings online.
Founded in 2023, Zapia serves over 6M customers in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay.
