The list of Colombian startups that reach the Y Combinator is growing quickly. The newest addition is UBits, a Colombian corporate learning platform that provides short online courses for capacity building within companies. Following in the footsteps of Rappi, Hogaru, Platzi, and Ropeo, UBits was accepted into the Y Combinator in June 2018.
Over 70 companies in Latin America, including Natura, Terpel, and BNP Paribas, are already using UBits’ courses, which reduce training costs by 40% for companies that use the platform. Since it was founded in 2013, UBits has frequently seen 250% annual growth.
Now, UBits is looking to expand into the new markets, having opened a Mexican office just two months before being accepted into the Y Combinator. The company expects to see 15% of this year’s sales come from the Mexican operations.
Over the next 12 months, UBits plans to develop at least 100 new courses to provide more comprehensive training to workers in Latin American companies.
