Groupon Peixe starts off 2019 with a new CEO

LatAm ListPeixe Urbano appoints Ilson Bressan as Groupon’s new CEO starting February 2019. He will be the first CEO that is not among the founders of the online platform that enables users to find and book deals on restaurants, plane tickets, beauty services, and more.

Right before the programmed passing of the baton, Bressan was Chief Sales Officer in Latin America for Peixe Urbano. Alex Tabor, Bressan’s predecessor will continue operating as the company’s ‘informal advisor’.

Bressan studied Foreign Trade at Universidad de Vale do Rio dos Sinos and got an MBA in Marketing at ESPM. He has more than 20 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, and Operations, and was introduced to Peixe Urbano when his startup Zuppa Reservas, a restaurant reservations site, was acquired by the online platform.

“I’ve built a solid career within Groupon Peixe that has given me the required experience to take on this new challenge. That’s why this was an easy and programmed change. I think that what characterizes everyone at the company is passion, and I feel honoured to commit to maintaining the brand’s DNA, as well as to generate more value in the Latin American countries in which we operate,” says the new CEO.

Bressan expects 2019 to be a year full of growth with a truly integrated company, which has already seen a 10% income increase this past January compared to last year.

The business operates today in the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
