LatAm List – Rappi is pushing to further optimize its service by building their own spaces to prepare food. These 15-18 square meter kitchens allow for multiple restaurants’ dishes to be prepared under one roof using standard equipment installations and complying with sanitation and security norms.
Sebastián Solanilla, the Director of Rappi growth projects, informs that the conditions to form part of a ‘hub’ are: an average of $30M in monthly sales from one point of sale, platform exclusivity, and lack of coverage in the area. Soon, Rappi users will have the option of ordering food from multiple restaurants as long as they share a common ‘hub’ kitchen.
According to Solanilla, by the end of 2019, there will be 300 kitchens throughout the Latin American countries Rappi is operating in.
