Fintech dominated the first half of July, with plenty of news involving payment-focused solutions. Here are the product launches and expansions we saw in the last two weeks.
Launches
- Remittances fintech MayaPlus launched an app that helps Guatemalan migrants in the US send money to their families and purchase real estate in Guatemala. Read more on LatamFintech Hub.
- Sicredi, a Brazilian cooperative financial institution, launched a new feature in the state of Roraima that allows clients to share banking history and transfer funds from other institutions via WhatsApp. Read more on LatamFintech Hub.
- Colombian fintech AAvance launched a debit card for migrants in Colombia, specifically targeting the unbanked migrant population. Clients can use the card physically and digitally. Read more on LatamFintech Hub.
- Mexican fintech Bravo launched Sync in Colombia to help financial institutions and debt collection agencies recover overdue loans more efficiently by identifying and managing debtors enrolled in Bravo’s program, improving their debt recovery processes. Read more on LatamFintech Hub.
- Chilean paytech Vita Wallet announced they are launching Vita Card in Colombia in August. Vita Card is a virtual business debit card that allows companies to spend in US Dollars or Colombian Pesos. Read more on LatamFintech Hub.

Expansions
- Colombian payments as a service platform (PaaS) Minka announced its expansion to Peru and Africa. In Peru, Minka partnered with Peruvian fintechs GMoney and Globokas. Read more on LatamFintech Hub and Gadgets Africa.
