LatAm List – Airbnb chose Bogota, Colombia for the company’s first support centre in Latin America. With this expansion, the online lodging platform will provide telephone and online support in Spanish, English, and Portuguese to travelers and hosts around the world.
“We are proud of this announcement which strengthens our commitment to our hosts and guests, especially in Latin America. To be able to lend services to our community from Bogota through our partner’s office is another step [for us] in a region that is showing the greatest growth for Airbnb,” said Leo Tristao, Airbnb’s Country Manager in Brazil and South America.
Colombia’s high quality and bilingual talent as well as Bogota’s strategic location make the country an attractive location for this expansion.
According to María Victoria Bramati, Sr. Communications Manager at Airbnb, the centre will create approximately 300 new jobs in the country.
“We are constantly searching for the best talent, therefore, those interested in applying can view openings through Sutherland,” added Bramati.
Airbnb stated that last year more than 1M travelers arrived in Colombia through their application. These travelers created a direct economic impact of an estimated $560M.
