LatAm List – After raising US$1.4M from Chilean VC firm, Aurus, in May 2018, real estate investment platform Capitalizarme will begin its expansion outside of Chile this month. The startup considered several countries before settling on Peru as its next market.
“We chose Peru over Colombia or Mexico because there are already a lot of Chilean firms in Peru and real estate is a quickly-growing industry, much like it was in Chile 10 years ago. We are very interested in continuing to work with Chilean real estate companies that have offices in Peru,” said Capitalizarme CEO and cofounder, Gabriel Cid, in an interview with El Mercurio.
The platform currently makes around US$100M in sales in Chile and plans to do the same in Peru by 2020. The Capitalizarme team is looking to make real estate investment in Peru more streamlined and accessible, much like they have in Chile.
Capitalizarme will also begin expansion into the US market in the next two months with plans to grow in Peru and the US over the course of 2019.
