Uruguayan deep tech startup metaBIX Biotech raised a $1.3M extension round from Dalus Capital and EWA Capital. Existing investors, TheBoard Peru, Angel Hub, AIR Capital, and Danta Fund also participated in the round. The round follows the $1M round that metaBIX Biotech closed in October 2025.
metaBIX’s environmental biosurveillance platform anticipates disease outbreaks in animal production systems and detects contamination risks across the food supply chain. Its technology combines non-invasive environmental monitoring with AI-driven predictive analytics, shifting sanitary management from reactive to preventive.
The funding will support commercial expansion in Brazil. metaBIX is already working with major producers in the country and running field validations with large-scale agricultural operations.
“We are moving from validating the technology to scaling its global impact. Brazil will be our anchor market in 2026 as we strengthen strategic partnerships across key economies,” said Laura Macció, co-founder and CEO of metaBIX.
metaBIX has active operations across Latin America and Asia and aims to build its platform into an infrastructure for agricultural biosecurity worldwide.
