GoodMeal, a Chilean startup dedicated to fighting food waste, has announced its plans to enter the Colombian market. The company will initially launch its services in Bogotá, with a vision to expand to the five major cities of Colombia by 2024.
“Colombia is a culturally open country to change and innovation, with a highly developed food industry and a population that, like most countries in Latin America, urgently needs effective solutions to combat rising food prices…,” said GoodMeal’s co-founder and CEO, Rodrigo Haydar.
After raising $1.2 million in 2022 to support its growth in Chile, GoodMeal is preparing to expand internationally to become Latin America’s leading technological solution against food waste.
GoodMeal connects businesses with surplus food with cosmetic defects, that are close to their expiration date or did not sell during the day, offering them to consumers at reduced prices. The company has over 2K affiliated businesses, 1M users, and has rescued over 1.2K tons of food in just two years.
