Kaszek recently announced the closing of funds: Kaszek Ventures VI and Ventures Opportunity III. Combined, they represent $975M in committed funds from financial institutions, US universities, philanthropist organizations, and tech investors.
Kaszek Ventures VI raised $540M to invest in early-stage startups, while Ventures Opportunity raised $435M to invest in later-stage companies. These 2 funds allow Kaszek to continue investing in later rounds of existing portfolio companies while continuing to invest in new startups.
“We have been working on this strategy since 2019. We invested in Nubank from the early stages, but in series C we ran out of capital for these later stages. We later continued to invest in Nubank, even after their IPO, but had to skip the Series C round,”said Nicolás Szekasy, co-founder and Managing Partner of Kaszek.
Founded in 2011 by Mercado Libre founding team members, Hernán Kazah and Nicolás Szekasy, Kaszek has raised over $3B and invested in over 100 companies like Kavak, Nubank, Fintual, Xepelin, Clara, Kushki, and Bitso.
