Earlier this year, seed-stage venture capital firm, Magma Partners, announced a partnership with Chinese coworking space, Kr Space to launch the first Sino-Latin American accelerator that would connect the two regions.
On March 29th, 2018, the VP of Kr Space, Dong Bo, announced a series of events called Sino-Latin American Innovation Year, which showcases 10 country-themed workshops to help Chinese entrepreneurs see Latin America’s innovation potential. This first event, called “Vibrant Mexico,” focused on Mexican innovation and investment, and was backed by ProMexico, China International Youth Exchange Center, Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, Party Committee and Global Innovation Community of Zhongguancun, Inno Way, Youth Federation of Beijing Haidian District, and the Beijing Overseas Chinese Return Association.
Magma Partners’ Jie Hao presented at the event about how to choose a bank overseas, and the Trade Commissioner of ProMexico, Felipe Garcia, discussed the rapid development of Mexico’s technology sector.
These events are meant to educate Chinese entrepreneurs about the Latin American market and help more Latin American entrepreneurs reach the Chinese market.
