LatAm List – Ecuadorian cybersecurity startup, Kriptos, recently announced that they would open a new office in Santiago, Chile to target the Chilean market. Kriptos uses artificial intelligence to automatically classify and label company documents to prevent data loss and protect crucial information.
Founded in March 2018, Kriptos has grown extremely fast in Ecuador, participating in Techstars’ Barclays Accelerator in Tel Aviv in mid-2018, and receiving investment from Magma Partners. Using their technology, the Kriptos team classified over 40,000 documents in the last two weeks of December alone.
Kriptos’ founders, Christian Torres and Alfonso Villalba, studied the Chilean and Colombian markets before making their decision to expand.
“We are very proud to open new offices in a new market and have already scheduled the implementation of Kriptos in large companies in Chile,” said Christian Torres in a statement.
In late 2018, Kriptos was selected as one of the world’s 10 fastest growing startups by India’s Future Tech Festival.
As of February 2019, Kriptos will establish offices in Santiago and begin working with some of Chile’s largest companies to improve data security through their AI technology.
