Fintechs took the spotlight in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, and Chile during the second half of April. Here are the past two weeks’ key launches, expansions, and partnerships.

Expansions

  1. Brazilian paytech PagBrasil launched in Portugal, making it easier for the Brazilian community to use Pix, a popular instant payment system from Brazil.   1. European fintech Revolut launched subscription plans for debit cards for users in Brazil. Users will get benefits like currency exchange discounts, lower fees for international transfers, and free ATM withdrawals. Plans cost between $1.7 and $14 per month. Read more on Yahoo Finanzas
  2. Colombian paytech Akua launched a cloud platform to streamline payment processing and acceptance. The platform combines transaction processing with features like payment links, tokenization, Tap to Phone, bank-grade security, and real-time reporting, all in one place. Read more on Latamfintech
  3. Peruvian fintech Yape introduces a new feature that allows businesses to send direct payments to users. With this update, companies can transfer money to a user’s Yape-linked phone number — no bank account needed. Read more on Peru Retail
  4. Mexican lending platform R2 has launched merchant lending with Uber Eats in Chile. Now, thousands of restaurants and grocery stores across the country can easily access working capital directly through the Uber Eats Manager app. Read more on R2

Partnerships

  1. Chilean SaaS company Videsk partnered with BCP to strengthen its presence in Peru. Through this alliance, Videsk will offer BCP customers a faster, more personalized, and closer experience through AI-powered video calls. Read more in DFsud
