The Yield Lab, a US-based VC firm focused on the agri-food industry, announced a $50M fund to invest across 30 LatAm based startups.
Companies such as IDB Lab, Bimbo and SQM joined the fund as investors. While Sonen Capital and Bancoldex Capital Fund of Funds are undergoing the process to be part of this innitiative.
Named “Opportunity Fund,” its main focus is to support emerging companies that are transforming the agri-food value chain in an inclusive, transparent, innovative, and disruptive way.
“During the next 30 years, the forms of production and consumption of food will be radically different from those known at present, so the industry will have to transform to more robust, efficient and sustainable designs.” said The Yield Lab.
In the last 5 years, The Yield Lab grew its presence across Argentina, Brasil, Mexico and Chile. It currently supports 19 startups from 7 countries.
