In a story originally reported by Forbes Mexico, the Chilean cryptocurrency trading platform, CryptoMKT, has expanded its operations to Mexico. CryptoMKT is already active in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Europe, helping consumers trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Stellar.
“The vision of CryptoMarket is to connect people rapidly and securely, with lowest possible commissions, in each of the countries where we work.”
Mexican businesses will now have the option to receive payments in cryptocurrencies through the website CryptoCompra.com, which allows them to immediately turn the assets into Mexican pesos. CryptoMKT co-founder Martin Jofré commented that entering the Mexican market was a major challenge for the startup, but it was one they were pleased to take on.
CryptoMarket has been in the news recently after closing a US$600K round with ConsenSys Ventures and Magma Partners. The startup was also involved in controversy in early 2018 when banks in Chile closed accounts for several cryptocurrency exchanges.
