Colombian startup Slang changes how professionals learn English

LatAm ListSlang, an app co-founded by CEO Diego Villegas and machine learning expert Kamran Khan, is working to develop a specialized English program tailored to different careers.

Unlike traditional language learning platforms, Slang targets universities and organizations and utilizes AI and machine learning to create an adaptive, accelerated database.

Slang and venture capital fund ALLVP have recently launched a program for those interested in the venture capital and entrepreneurial ecosystem. English is used as an anchor-language in these fields which often puts Latin American countries at a disadvantage.

According to Fernando Lelo de Larrea, the Managing Partner of the fund, “For the entrepreneur, mastering the English language is key to expanding their chances of success, we have been falling behind but we can now use technology to solve this problem.”
