The global information services company Experian announced it acquired a 51% stake in the Brazilian fintech MOVA for $7.9M. According to the deal terms, Experian has the option to acquire the remaining 49% stake between 2026 and 2028.
The Dublin-based Experian acquired MOVA’s stake from Érico Sodre Quirino, a private investor, and Roberto Tesch, the startup’s founder and CEO.
MOVA is a Credit as a Service startup that provides any company with the technology and expertise to create their credit, financing, and investment products. Its modular system covers the entire credit cycle and allows companies to quickly build credit products that are tailored to their client’s needs.
The Brazilian fintech MOVA has already closed more than 35,000 contracts and intermediated over $11M in operations.
On the other hand, Experian is a leading information services company that helps consumers and clients manage their data. According to the company, MOVA’s business model is highly complementary to Experian’s Business-to-Business solutions which facilitate access to credit for small and medium enterprises.
