Somos Internet secured a $13.4M seed round led by Nazca, K50, Daedalus Ventures, and Kaszek. Angel investors Matías Muchnick, Pierpaolo Barbieri, and Freddy Vega also participated.
The network and telecommunications startup will use the money to increase its user base and expand its coverage to more cities in Colombia.
“Our goal is to bring high-speed and stable internet services to Bogotá, and launch our new product, Somos Pro,” said Somos Internet’s Founder and CEO, Forrest T. Heath III.
Somos Internet provides prepaid high-speed internet services. Using its FiverWaveTM technology, the company can offer internet service plans with up to 2GBs of speed.
With over 18,000 clients on a waiting list, the company has grown its client base by 70% in 2023, expecting to grow sales by over 200% by the end of the year.
