Wenia, Grupo Bancolombia’s crypto platform, announced the launch of WeniaCard, a digital card that will let users pay with cryptocurrency at any store that accepts MasterCard, and will integrate with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Wenia aims to reach more users and increase the adoption of digital assets. In line with its goal, Wenia has also cut its commission fees for converting digital assets, lowering them from 0.6% to 0.1%
Digital currencies are gaining traction in Colombia. Around 6M people in Colombia currently invest or save money using cryptocurrencies.
Founded in 2022, Wenia is an app-based platform that allows users to buy, receive, and send digital assets. Wenia app has over 40K downloads since it launched five months ago.
