Brazilian healthtech Central da Visão raised a $1.7M Series A round led by HT3 Investimentos, the financial arm of pharmaceutical group H. Egígidio Group. Hangar 8 Capital, Gávea Angels, 4AM Capital, Sororitê Angel Network, and Columbia Ventures Brazil also participated in the round.
Central da Visão partners with private clinics to schedule affordable eye surgeries during clinics’ unused hours, helping patients stuck in public healthcare queues get surgeries faster with simplified payment options.
Central da Visão will use the funds to invest in technology to simplify customer service involving surgical processes, and expand to other states in Brazil.
“Today, there are over 500K people on the waiting list in the public health system (SUS) just for cataract surgery. Considering that most vision surgeries are age-related and the elderly population is growing and living longer, the company’s growth potential is exponential and only increases over time,” said Central da Visão’s Co-Founder and CEO Marta Luconi.
Founded in 2017, Central da Visão partners with over 50 clinics in 14 Brazilian states and generated $1M in revenue in 2023.
