Brazilian healthtech Huna raised a $1.5M pre-seed round led by Kortex Ventures. big_bets, Niu Ventures, New Ventures Capital, and angel investors also participated in the round.
Founded in 2022, Huna uses artificial intelligence to analyze routine blood tests and assess cancer risk, particularly breast cancer, by identifying patterns in standard results.
Huna will use the funds to expand the availability of its existing products and accelerate the growth of its research portfolio, with a focus on developing a “multi-cancer” diagnostics platform.
“We want to be an intelligence provider for the healthcare system, not just offer software. Our focus is to integrate our technology into different stages of screening,” said Huna’s co-founder and CEO, Vinicius Ribeiro.
Huna’s co-founders, Vinicius Ribeiro and Daniella Castro, along with other researchers, published the first results of Huna’s findings in Nature in 2024.
