Frankles raises $1M led by Südlich Capital

Frankles, a Chilean biotechnology startup that transforms agri-food byproducts into high-value biocompounds, raised $1M in a round led by Südlich Capital. Veterquímica and Carozzi Ventures also participated.

Founded in 2020 by Francisca Schäfer and Matías Henríquez, Frankles developed a biotechnology process that extracts active ingredients and biocompounds that serve as inputs for new product lines. Its model combines applied science, circular-economy practices, and close collaboration with industry partners.

Frankles will use the capital to grow its scientific team and expand its operations. It aims to reinforce early results with partners that have shown interest in its biocompounds and extraction technology.
