Latamlist – Truora donated a COVID-19 verification tool to the Colombian government to help monitor movement in Barranquilla during the lockdown.
Truora is a Colombian startup that provides instant background checks to help businesses with their recruitment and compliance processes. In response to the problems brought on by the pandemic, Truora adapted its solutions and donated a COVID-19 verification system.
Companies authorized by the government to gradually restart operations can register their employees using Truora’s tool. Additionally, these companies have to register their biosecurity protocols through the City Hall’s website.
The COVID-19 verification tool takes up to 48 hours to go through the system. Authorities can then verify from their mobile phones if a citizen is indeed affiliated to an authorized company.
“This reinforcement arrived just in time. It aligns with the measures we’ve taken to control and ensure citizen compliance. We repeat that we must only leave our homes when it is truly urgent or necessary,” said Jaime Pumarejo Heins, Mayor of Barranquilla.
Daniel Bilbao, CEO of Truora, hopes that this solution will help keep citizens calm in times of uncertainty.
“This is a key moment where we all must do our part to get through this crisis in the best way. At Truora we are fortunate to be able to help the State as well as companies so that their employees can keep working while staying safe,” said Bilbao.
Over 4,000 companies have registered their biosecurity protocols and their employees, which amount to more than 93,000. Learn more about how to register your company here.
In light of the massive layoffs caused by the crisis, Truora also recently launched Talento Startup. The initiative gives visibility to those unemployed due to the crisis and connects them with companies seeking new talent.
