LatamList – Global66, a Chilean online payments platform, recently raised $4.3M which will help fuel the expansion of its remittance services to new countries in Latin America and, eventually, to Canada. Mario Solari, Will Armitage, Andrew McKay, as well as the British fund Venrex participated in this round.
These investors, along with others from previous rounds, hold 25% of the company. Currently, Global66 operates in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, and Mexico.
“Today we have over 400 different routes and our intention is to keep expanding them. We’re in the process of regulations, with Chile as well as Colombia, and part of this is going to be used as regulatory capital, in addition to financing our regional growth,” said Tomas Bercovich, co-founder and CEO of Global66.
The startup plans to enter the prepaid card market with new products during the first semester of 2021.
