Ábaco Technologies secures $53M to expand SME lending in Central America

Salvadoran fintech Ábaco Technologies secured $53M through a warehouse facility and a Seed round, bringing its total funding to more than $60M. Accial Capital and Pomona Impact led the warehouse facility. Promotora Social México, Nazca Ventures, Alaya Capital, Caricaco Ventures, Innogen Capital, and other investors participated in the Seed round.

Founded in 2023 by Alejandro McCormack, Carlos Villalobos, and Moisés Hasbún, Ábaco provides digital invoice financing for SMEs. The platform enables businesses to convert accounts receivable into working capital in less than 24 hours without requiring personal or real estate collateral.

Ábaco will use the funds to originate more than $350M in loans over the next 24 months, serve more than 10,000 SMEs, and expand operations in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Costa Rica.

To date, Ábaco has originated more than $100M in loans, onboarded more than 3,000 businesses, and completed over 25,000 disbursements.
