Argentinian startup Agrotoken, a tokenization infrastructure startup for agricultural commodities with main operations in Brazil, announced a new round led by Visa.
In collaboration since 2022, they co-developed a card that allows farmers to use tokenized grains for any type of purchase, without intermediaries, in more than 80 million merchants that accept Visa worldwide.
āWith this money, we plan to develop new products and expand the issuance of Agrotoken Visa cards from Brazil to other countries,ā explained Eduardo Novillo Astrada, Co-founder and CEO.
Created in 2020, Agrotoken helps farmers to convert grains into digital assets to exchange them for products or to request loans collateralized by grains.
