Arauco acquires majority ownership of Odd Industries

LatamListArauco, a sustainable forestry startup, announced the acquisition of majority ownership of Odd Industries, an industrial artificial intelligence (IAI) pioneer in climate change action.

Arauco is a global manufacturer of forest products with an ethical and sustainable outlook. The company uses LiDAR technology to ensure sustainable forestry and fight the climate crisis.

“Sustainability is in our nature. We are committed to the development and application of new technologies to create innovative solutions that will ensure the future of our surroundings,” said Matias Domeyko, CEO of Arauco.

Odd Industries is an ethically-driven IAI company that enables the least digitized industries to become data-driven organizations. The startup’s technology helps make companies’ operations safer, smarter, more sustainable, and efficient.

“We started Odd Industries with the mission of improving our world with better information. We were convinced that if we used AI to measure the most unmeasurable things, like counting leaves on all the trees in a forest, we could understand our negative impact, reduce it, and even reverse it,” said Leo Prieto, CEO of Odd Industries.

The executive team of Odd Industries will continue to lead the company and remain shareholders following the acquisition.
