Peruvian startup Mi Media Manzana is the most-downloaded dating app in Latin America. The service targets older professional singles in Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Mexico that are looking for a long-term relationship. The app has over a million downloads in the app store and hopes to reach 500,000 active users by 2019.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Mi Media Manzana announced that they received an undisclosed investment from Axon Partners Group, a Spanish venture capital firm. The firm used their Latin American fund, Fondo Amerigo Ventures Pacífico, to make their first ever investment into the Peruvian tech ecosystem.
Said D. Alfonso De León, CEO of Axon Partners Group, in the original PulsoSocial article:
“ The digital era is changing lifestyles and the way we do things, which is reflected in how we get to know people, and our personal relationships with them; Mi Media Manzana’s market is growing, and its team is one of the most experienced in the region so we are pleased to join the project and help turn it into a success story.”
This is Axon Partners Group’s eleventh investment in Latin America, and they have already had two successful exits from the region.
